Rev. Mike Winters, Pastor Mike Winters began serving as pastor of Wise Baptist Church in October of 2011. He has served other churches in Kentucky and Virginia prior to coming to Wise. He received a B.A. in Religion from Furman University and a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mike enjoys reading and running He has been married to Terry Lacy Winters since 1980. She's a former teacher at the primary school level. They have two children; Brandon, who lives in Knoxville, TN and Katherine, who lives with her husband, Cameron, in California. |
Terry Winters, Secretary Terry Graduated from Meredith College in 1977 with a double major in Religion & Home Economics. She received a Master of Religious Education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979. She and Mike met at seminary & were married in 1980. Mike and Terry have a son (Brandon) who is living in Knoxville, TN, and a daughter and son-in-law (Katherine and Cameron Driver) who live in San Francisco, CA. Terry moved with Mike to Wise in October 2011. Terry was an Elementary classroom teacher (mostly Kindergarten!) for 20 years. She retired from teaching in 2015. Terry love's being a pastor’s wife & enjoys working in the church office, tutoring & working part-time at UVA-Wise. Dr. Ray Jones Jr., Pastor Emeritus Ray Jones, Jr, Pastor Emeritus, is a native of Halls Cross Roads, Tennessee and the eldest of five brothers. His Dad was a teacher and his mom was a housewife. He is married to Carolyn. They have two children, Dwight and Amy, and five grandchildren. Ray obtained his BA from Carson-Newman College, his M. Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his D. Min from Lexington Theological Seminary. He served churches in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee before being called to Virginia in 1982. He felt led to retire in 2009 and was honored to be named Pastor Emeritus. He and his wife Carolyn are grateful that God allowed them to be a small part in the work of our beloved Wise Baptist, the Little Red Brick Church in the County Seat Town. |
